Born in 1933. Graduates Moscow State University (1956) and receives the Kandidatskaia degree in 1966. She is a Supervising Research Fellow at the State Institute for Art Studies. Among her numerous articles and books are such major publications as Film Art in Socialist Cinema (1963), Polish Cinema (1966), Konrad Wolf (1973) and Vladimir Vysotskii (1982). She is the Head of the Selection Committee for the Sochi Film Festival (1993-2000).
